Tommy: We had a company doctor. Now, if you know what that means, the company Daddy worked for paid the doctor and he was our doctor. We didn’t have to pay him. I’d love that today, somebody – the company doc-uh but, we had a company doctor. So we’d go to the company doctor and how many of you remember Penicillin must have been good for everything. Uh do-you’ve got to remember that Penicillin must’ve been good for everything. You’ve got a migraine, Penicillin shot. You’ve got a hurt back, Penicillin shot. You’ve got the flu, Penicillin shot. You’ve got a toenail out of whack, Penicillin shot. It worked half the time. He gave me a Penicillin shot and sent me home. I’m still sick. I go back three weeks later and guess what happens? Penicillin shot, and sent me home. The third time I go, I’m yellow. My eyeballs yellow, I’m spitting bile from my mouth, yellow. He says, “No shot today. This boy needs to go to Birmingham, to the hospital. Now!” We didn’t own a car. Daddy had to get out of the mines at 5 o’clock, we’ve got to borrow Uncle’s car, ’cause we don’t own a car and drive to Birmingham which is two and a half hours and get there about 8pm Thursday night. They take me to the back and examine me and come out. Mom and Dad in the waiting room, and say, “Mr. and Mrs. Combs, your son has Hepatitis.” We called it yellow jaundice. “Your son has Hepatitis C. His liver is destroyed. He should have been here two months ago. Your son will die in a week. Your son will die in a few days. We’re going to put IVs in his arm and we’re going to keep him the best that we can keep him, but get prepared, your son’s going to die.” They didn’t know my Grandma and they didn’t know my Mama! Because my Grandma is the one that taught me to plead the blood. My Mama’s the one that got a hold of Grandma and she taught me to plead the blood. On Sunday morning, many of you remember Oral Roberts came on television. Now listen, in Birmingham, Alabama, we didn’t have but three channels: ABC, CBS and NBC. We didn’t have 198 channels in ain’t— 192 of them ain’t worth watching. But, we didn’t have all of – we had three. But on one of them, Oral Roberts came on every Sunday morning at 9am with the Healing Hour. Ya’ll… And he would do this: put his hand like this, and that camera would zoom in and nothing but a hand would be on TV. Nothing but a…. You couldn’t see Oral Roberts; all you could see was a hand. And he would say, “You need healing? Touch your television .” Now, the TV was not in the top of the roof line like it is today with remote, we didn’t have remote, [laughs] It-it, it was sitting down by the bed, a little black and white TV sitting down by the bed. My Grandmother and my Mother are there praying for me, pleading the blood over me. Oral Roberts comes on, Mama turns the TV on, Oral Roberts starts this hand deal my Mother touches the TV like this with her hand, puts her other hand on my stomach, I’m laying on the bed dying, and says, “God if You’ll heal my boy, I’ll give him to You .” You don’t know where that is? Oh, all you’ve got to do is read 1 Samuel chapter 1 [laughs] and see about a woman named Hannah, and you’ve got to say, “Hannah, what did you pray?” “You give me a man-child God, I’ll give him back to you,” and his name was Samuel and he became one of the greatest prophet – anointed David King. That’s how good Samuel was in use of God’s work. Mother prayed that prayer over me. Instantly, not in a minute, not after a while, and not next week, the power of God came in that room like a blue mist. Any of you, anybody watching television today around the world or you in the audience today have been in service where a blue mist come rolling into that service. I’ve been there. I’ve been in there since some of the services I do, a blue mist rolls into that service. A blue mist rolled into that hospital room, so strong that my Mama on this side of the bed, it knocked her to the floor. My Grandmother on this side of the bed, it knocked her to the floor. A power of God rolled into that room and Jesus walked right up to my bed and stood at the bottom of my bed. I can describe Him to you, I know what He looked like. I saw the slash. I saw everything about Him. I know all about Him; I’ve seen Him in His eyes. I’ve looked straight at Him; He looked straight at me. I got a brand new liver in one second. Healed by the power of God because of the blood! Somebody say, “because of the blood!” The blood, the blood, the blood, the blood. The blood, the blood, the blood, the blood, the blood, the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. [speaking in tongues] The blood.
