Sid: This week is Purim week. In traditional synagogues throughout the world the book of Esther, or the megillah, the scroll of Esther is read word for word. I believe Esther is the end time book to the church not Revelation, the book of Esther is the end time book. Why do I say this? Take a look at the parallels between Esther and a Christian.
First of all let’s take a look at Esther, she was an orphan. Well do you know a non-people that became the people of God? That became Kings and Queens in the kingdom? You see. Also, Esther was beautiful. I want you to know something, you look at yourself in the mirror and you see a couple of pimples. God looks at you and He is madly, I say madly in love with you. You know why? When He sees you He sees His Son Yeshua, He sees Jesus. You know, get rid of that stinking thinking. God, the creator of the universe, loves you as much as Jesus because when He sees you He sees Jesus. Get that straight. How can you worry about anything going on in your life at this precise moment when you see the magnitude of God’s love for you, and if God’s for you who can be against you?
Let me tell you something else about Esther, she had favor. I tell you you have as much favor as Jesus. You’re part of His body, you’re His bride, you have supernatural favor. You are blessed coming in and blessed going out, blessed in the country, blessed in the city, blessed in everything you touch. Everything you touch is going to prosper.
You know what else? You could have been a heroin addict, you could have been a prostitute, you could have been a pornography addict, you could have been an alcoholic, you could have been the lowest of the low, but if you’ve repented of your sins God not only has forgiven you, He’s remitted your sins. That means He’s obliterated your sins, that means because of the blood of Jesus in His mind, in heaven’s mind, in your kingdom’s mind the kingdom of heaven and your king’s mind you are a virgin. You have no past, you have a wonderful present, and the best future of anyone on this earth could have. You’re going to spend eternity with God, you’re chosen.
You know what else Esther had? She had humility. You know what else Esther had? Esther hid her Jewish roots. No one knew she was Jewish. You know Esther? Church, listen to this now, if the blood of the greatest Jew who ever lived flows through your veins you got Jewish roots that go deep. But Esther church, you’ve done the same job as Esther in the Bible did. I mean you have so assimilated but guess what, I believe it was strategic it wasn’t totally demonic, it was strategic. What do I mean by that? Well take Esther for example. Esther wasn’t her Hebrew name, her Hebrew name was Hadassah what a beautiful name. Hadassah means myrtle, that was a type of evergreen tree. It speaks of life and green, and living, l’chaim – life, have another drink. Oh if you don’t understand that get the tape. They changed her name because she lived in Babylon, and the reason that they changed her name is when Jews went to different parts of the world they took on the culture that they had. But you know what? Had she not changed her name she might not been queen of the land because a Jew couldn’t be the queen of the land. She was called Esther and Esther comes from the fertility goddess Ishtar.
You see Hadassah’s family came to Babylon because of sin. They could have left Babylon 50 years earlier and avoided the potential death of every Jew living if they had left early, but they didn’t because they liked the good life in Babylon rather than the 3rd world nation of Israel. As a result they were going to have suffer the consequences.
Church I want you to know that a lot of the culture you’ve picked up, it’s about ready… you’re about ready to show the world the real Jesus. Talk about Romans 11:11. You know what that says?
Salvation has come to the Gentile to provoke the Jew to jealousy.
Now how are you going to provoke a Jew to jealousy? By observing the festivals of the nations, as opposed to observing the festivals of the kingdom. Now true Purim is not in the list of the required festivals in Leviticus 23. But… God says in the book of Esther this festival should be observed from generation to generation. So how are you going to provoke a Jew to jealousy by observing the Biblical festivals of your kingdom, or by observing the festivals of the world’s kingdom? Is it sin to do this? No as a matter of fact, I think God maneuvered Esther in this position. I think God maneuvered the church into this positon because I believe God’s secret weapon is the church. The only friend the Jewish people are going to have in the days we are living in right now are going to be true Christians. These true Christians are going to provoke Jews to jealousy. You know how you’re going to provoke Jews to jealousy?
- You’re going to walk in the miraculous power of God, the dunamis power of God like no generation has ever done. The closes is the first generation, but it’s going to be greater because Jesus said “You’ll do the same work I’ve done, and you’re even going to do greater.”
- You’re going to walk in Isaiah chapter 49 verse 22 and 23. Now this is remember I said Esther had humility she did everything Mordechai said. Well Esther, the church, has humility. Esther does everything that God the Father says, that the word says. This is talking about the last days Isaiah chapter 49 verse 22:
Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms
That’s the Jewish people.
And your daughters…
The Jewish daughters,
Shall be carried on their shoulders; Kings shall be your foster fathers.
You know who the kings are? Christians. Do you know who the children are? Jewish people.
Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers.
Do you know who the queens are? Those in the kingdom of God, Christians. But here’s the hard part for anyone whose kingdom is this world and not heaven.
The kings and queens shall bow down to you.
That’s the Jewish people.
With their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet.
Huh! Sounds like something Jesus did. Remember at the last Passover Seder, what’s known as the Last Supper, He washed the feet of His disciples, but this is the result of walking in that supernatural love. Then the Jewish people will know that “I am the Lord.”
Romans 11:11:
Salvation I believe has come to the Gentile [Christian] to provoke the Jewish people to jealousy.
I believe Esther this is you finest hour, I believe Esther, church… well rather than what I believe let’s tell you what God says. God says in His word when shortly all of the Jewish people were about to be exterminated, murdered, every adult male, female, every grandmother, every grandfather, every little boy, every little girl, and you know something in Hitler’s Germany that’s what they tried to do. That’s what they tried to do in the book of Esther. That’s what they are going to be trying to do shortly, and as a matter of fact, anti-Semitism is at a higher rater right now in Europe and Germany than it was just before Hitler came into power.
But this is what Mordechai said to Esther. Remember Esther owed a debt of gratitude just as Romans says that the church owes a debt of gratitude to the Jewish people. Because of them they were the fathers because they preserved the scriptures. It says in Esther 4:13 when Esther wasn’t sure whether she wanted to face a life threatening situation. This is what Mordechai said:
Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.
In other words, don’t think you can hide the fact that the blood of the greatest Jew who ever lived is flowing through your veins Esther.
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Esther I ask you, who knows if you had not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? This is your challenge Esther, this is your challenge church. Salvation has come to the Gentile Christian to provoke the Jew to jealousy. It doesn’t stop there though. When that Jew is provoked to jealousy, oh it gets so good… Do you know what happens when that Jew is provoked to jealousy? You will put the Jew with the word. Do you know what happens when you equip the Jew with the sword, that’s what it says in Esther? You equip the Jew with the sword, which is a type of the word of God, it says revival broke out throughout the land. It’s the law of sowing and reaping, it’s the law of salvation. Paul understood it he said in Romans 1:16:
I go to the Jew first.
Jesus understood it. He said:
I only go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, not as an end in itself but as a seed to reach the whole world.
God understood it when He went to Abraham the first Jew to plant a seed because He so loved the whole world.
Are you beginning to get it? I hope the lightbulbs are going on. Esther we need you, you’re special you’re important and this is Purim.
